R2: Orthopedics

(1 Rotation)

Second year residents spend 3 full days per week for 4 weeks in orthopedics outpatient clinics at Madigan Army Hospital in Tacoma.  The clinics attended include:

• General orthopedics
• Pediatric orthopedics
• Hand clinic
• Spine clinic
• Sports medicine
• Cast clinic

This is a very popular rotation with lots of hands on experience.  Residents have the opportunity to see several patients with acute orthopedic trauma and do several joint and soft tissue injections.
