We are thrilled to have you review our website and learn about our fabulous residency in Seattle Washington at Swedish Cherry Hill! Our program has a long tradition of training Family Doctors to treat the underserved, those economically disadvantaged, culturally diverse & often disenfranchised from access to care. Although the residency was founded many years ago in 1974, we have been a part of the exciting Swedish organization since 2000. Our underserved tradition continues, as well as being a program that operates the residency as a partnership between faculty and residents, which empowers residents to fully participate in the design of the program & to prepare graduates to practice in any setting, whether urban, rural or international locations.
We have four sites that each focus on a unique patient population for the clinic experience, while sharing together all other rotations including inpatient adult, child & obstetrical experiences among others.
Our clinic sites are:
- Swedish Cherry Hill Clinic —18 total residents with a diverse population
- SeaMar Community Health Center — 6 total residents serving a diverse population with a Latino focus.
- Seattle Indian Health Board — 6 total residents serving a diverse population with a Native American / Alaska Native focus
- Carolyn Downs Family Health Center — 6 total residents with a diverse population
All of our faculty practice full spectrum Family Medicine including OB. Our program strengths include behavioral science, inpatient care, obstetrics, sports medicine and addiction medicine. We offer Areas of Concentration in sports medicine, international medicine, addiction medicine, gynecology, maternal child medicine, rural health, integrative medicine, and leadership and public policy.
We also offer a fourth year training fellowships in addiction medicine and integrative medicine for graduates of Family Medicine residencies.
