Didactics

Tuesday afternoon didactics are designed to supplement the clinical curriculum and are held at Cherry Hill every Tuesday from 1-5 pm. Residents from all six sites attend this conference, which is livestreamed via Zoom for Rural Training Track residents and faculty as well as Seattle folks working remotely.

Presentations on a wide array of topics follow an 18-month rotating curriculum. Hands-on learning, case-based presentations, and evidence-based practice are emphasized. Speakers range from national experts on health policy to leading local physicians. Residents give talks on topics of special interest and on their own work in community medicine and activism.

Some of our didactics series and recurring didactics curriculum:

  • Intensives: Diabetes, Endocrine, OB, Prenatal, Preventive Medicine, Procedures, Pulmonary, Renal, and more

  • Quarterly site-specific didactics for each of our six continuity clinics

  • Behavioral Health: Balints, quarterly behavioral health didactics shared with the Swedish First Hill residency, and Cherry Hill-only behavioral didactics
